Organics by ASTM Method D2974
Used to determine the moisture content, ash content, and percent organic matter in soil.

Organics by EPA Method 8260B
Determines most volatile organic compounds with boiling points below 200 C. Collect grab samples in 40 mL glass screw cap VOA vials with Teflon-lined silicone septa. If residual chlorine is present collect the sample in a 125 mL container which has been pre-preserved with sodium thiosulfate solution, swirl gently and then transfer to a 40 mL VOA vial. Cool to 4 degrees C and adjust pH to <2 from time of collection until analysis.

Organics by EPA Method 8270D
Used to determine the concentration of semivolatile organic compounds in extracts prepared from many types of solid waste matrices, soils, air sampling media and water samples.

Organics by EPA Method 8081B
Used to determine the concentrations of various organochlorine pesticides in extracts from solid and liquid matrices, using fused-silica, open-tubular, capillary columns with electron capture detectors (ECD) or electrolytic conductivity detectors (ELCD).
