On May 17, the Chicago Section of the American Chemical Society awards the Willard Gibbs Medal to Charles M. Lieber of Harvard University. He will present “Nanowires, Nanoscience and Emerging Nanotechnologies.” Nanoscience’s potential applications include: micro-robots, nano-enabled renewable energy production and energy storage, using inorganic and organic nanostructures as labels for imaging and drug delivery and nanoelectronic devices combines with cells and tissues. End the month with Illinois Science Council’s “The Chemistry of Chocolate,” May 28, 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Dr., Chicago.
