About Us
Gayle E. O’Neill, Ph.D.
Gayle has over 20 years experience running an independent
contract laboratory. As president, she provides the overall
leadership for TEI Analytical. As laboratory director, she
personally consults with each client to assess needs, develop
strategies, and review results. Gayle has been a member of the
American Chemical Society (ACS) National Committee on Environmental
Improvement since 1991. She previously served as Chairman of ACS
Chicago Section, President of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy
Chicago Section, and President of the Illinois Water Environment
Association. Gayle also is a member of the Water Environmental
Federation and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
Prior to joining TEI Analytical, Gayle was an associate chemist at
the IIT Research Institute (IITRI). She holds a doctorate in
chemistry from Loyola University of Chicago.
Hugh “Jack” O’Neill, Ph.D.
Jack brings to
TEI Analytical more than 40 years of experience in analytical
chemistry, biochemistry, chromatography-spectroscopy, environmental
chemistry, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, instrumental
analysis, metabolic studies, methods development, and trace
analysis. He currently holds joint positions at Argonne National
Laboratory and a consulting arrangement with IITRI. His focus at TEI
is on methods development for nonroutine analyses and on building
the company’s growing research and development division. At
Argonne, Jack participates on numerous studies on the analysis,
remediation and speciation of various military-related chemical
agents, and develops analytical methods for the safe disposal of
various chemical agent-contaminated wastes. He has served on several
EPA and ASTM committees for air quality and and served on several
National Institutes of Health study sections on carcinogenesis and
chemoprevention. His professional affiliations include the American
Association for the Advancement of Science; ACS; American Defense
Preparedness Association; American Oil Chemists Society; Air
Pollution Control Association; ASTM; Chicago Chromatography
Discussion Group; Illinois and New York Academies of Science; Phi
Lambda Upsilon; Sigma Xi; and the Vascular Disease Research
Foundation (Board of Directors). Jack has over 40 technical
publications and 50 technical presentations. He holds a doctorate in
biochemistry from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Anne O'Donnell, M.S.
Anne is an analytical chemist with a broad-range of expertise in chromatography, mass spectrometry, and GC-MS. At TEI, she focuses on the development and applications of analytical techniques and systems in the areas of environmental chemistry (air and water), petroleum chemistry, industrial cleaning chemistries and equipment, and process and product development. She also has extensive experience in the characterization/speciation of complex mixtures for petroleum products, flavor/fragrance products, and ambient, stationary source or indoor air. Anne holds a master of science in analytical chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining TEI, she served as manager of product and process chemistry, analytical development, for Safety-Kleen, Inc. She is a member and past president of the Chicago Chromatography Discussion Group, and a member of the MCM Mass Spectrometry Discussion Group, American Chemical Society, Sigma Xi, and the American Society for Mass Spectrometry.

Judy has worked in the TEI
lab since 1992. She conducts classical chemistry analyses and sample
preparation.
Erin Marks
Erin’s versatility
is an asset to the small but specialized TEI staff. In the lab, she
conducts instrumentation as well as classical chemistry analyses. In
the office, Erin keeps the computers running, provides software
training, creates and manages databases, maintains office
inventories, and processes financial transactions.
Erin, who began working at TEI Analytical in 1997, holds a bachelor’s
degree from Oberlin College.
